For a consultation, call 1-888-Law-4-Life or visit www.tullylegal.com. When faced with a complaint of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or other unlawful employment practice, employers are legally obligated to conduct an investigation into the complaint. This type of investigation is one of the most effective steps an employer can take towards the remedy of illegal activity in the workplace. Not only can a workplace investigation establish a strong defense in the event of a lawsuit, but it can also help prevent future issues as it demonstrates your company's commitment to maintaining a workplace free from discrimination or other unlawful acts. There are specific steps to conducting a workplace investigation that, when followed correctly, result in a thorough and fair investigation. Many employers facing complaints retain outside counsel to conduct the investigation to ensure all parties involved perceive the investigation as fair and complete. Further, in the event of a lawsuit, having an impartial third party familiar with the laws and regulations conduct the investigation can assist in an employer's defense. Our attorneys are available to conduct workplace investigations. We take the care to properly document the investigation and produce a report of our findings to both parties. Further, if corrective or disciplinary action is necessary, we will advise on the appropriate type of action. If you would like to consult with us or have questions concerning your particular situation, please contact us to find out more at 518-218-7100 or via email at info@tullylegal.com. The firm’s Portland office is located downtown next to the Pioneer Courthouse Square. Firm Philosophy Practice Philosophy for Arnold Law At Arnold Law, in Eugene, Oregon, you can count on working closely with a litigation team committed to achieving the results you deserve. Call us at 855-976-8692 or send us an e-mail today to schedule an appointment with one of our experienced trial lawyers. Preparation Is the Key The experienced trial lawyers at our firm prepare for every case as if it is going to trial. We plan for every contingency and work hard to stay ahead of our opponents as the events of a case unfold. That preparation helps us create the leverage we need to maximize your settlement so you can get the results you deserve. Our trial lawyers spend the time and confer with the experts up front to properly prepare for each case. We go into each case with the assumption that it is going to trial. This preparation allows us to work toward maximizing settlements and achieving the results you deserve. It is our experience that this approach saves attorney fees in the long run because it allows you a more realistic evaluation of the merits of your case when entertaining settlement offers, thus preventing expensive trials in cases that can be settled. A Team Approach to Litigation At Arnold Law we look at every case as a team effort. The team consists of your lawyers, Arnold Law support staff, experts, investigators, and YOU. Let’s break this down, starting with YOU: You as the client are a vital part of the legal team. You have been living the events that have led up to this litigation. You are often the best person to consult for historical information and background. Clients have also been known to come up with some very creative and strategic legal ideas. Because of this, we encourage clients to brainstorm ideas and we listen to them carefully. Of course, without legal training, many ideas of clients are legally impossible or invalid, but that’s okay. Because there is often a gem in there that even the lawyers didn’t think of. Next, are the lawyers. Picking a lawyer or team of lawyers is often the most important decision a person makes in their life if the stakes of the case are high enough. Let’s take a divorce for example. Many people say that picking a spouse is the most difficult/important choice. That’s true on many levels, but you can divorce them; the choice isn’t permanent. If you choose a divorce lawyer poorly, you might be saddled permanently with their financial errors (i.e., support, missing assets, improperly divided retirement accounts, etc.). If you pick a assets, improperly divided retirement accounts, etc.). If you pick a criminal defense lawyer poorly, you may face the permanent consequences from a prison cell or at the unemployment office. Cutting Edge Use of Experts Your legal team often also consists of expert witnesses and investigators. Due to the breadth of our practice areas (complex business litigation, high-asset divorce, wrongful death, and major felony criminal defense), our lawyers have relationships with experts in many different fields. We often — to the surprise of opposing counsel — will use a bio-mechanical expert we know from personal injury law in a criminal case. Or we will use a business valuator that we know from high-asset divorce litigation in a complex commercial litigation case. Or we will come up with cutting edge ideas based on the latest literature in the field of forensic psychology to utilize an expert in the formation of memories on the issue of confirmation bias in investigations. The list is long and important, because it wins trials or wins settlements that greatly benefit our client. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvVEEGNKVnM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl99K8y3k5s

After a huge OT win against Yale solidified Albany’s spot in the Top 10 of DI, the Danes needed a win over UMBC to finish undefeated in the America East and take the conference’s regular season crown. The afternoon in Catonsville, Md. started out well, with Albany building a lead as large as 11-3 with 27 minutes remaining. But the Retreivers came out fiery after the break, fighting back to eventually push the game to a 14-14 tie. With 15 seconds left in overtime, sophomore Kyle McClancy got under his man and made a run at the cage, burying the game winner for Albany.

ALBANY -- The Albany Common Council nearly unanimously approved an expanded ban on smoking in city parks on Monday night. Currently, the City bans smoking only in areas where children would likely play. Council members said that they wanted to keep the air clean for non-smokers and former smokers, as many members shared stories of how they quit smoking. The new ban would include events like Tulip Festival and Alive at Five. People caught smoking in a city park would face a $50 fine, but the council said it hopes for a community effort, with residents discouraging others and self-policing. One council member, Michael O'Brien, abstained from a vote over concerns that it was overly broad and wide reaching. He also asked for clarification whether the ban would affect the city's golf course. The council did not list a start date to allow its counsel to research and respond to the issue.
